Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling idling stop an internal combustion engine, which can more promptly restart the engine during idling stop without increasing cost compared to conventional cases.SOLUTION: When stop of an engine 3 is requested, by increasing target pressure of fuel that has been raised in a common rail 15 by a high pressure pump 12 rotating in cooperation with a crankshaft 4 of the engine 3, a pressure feeding amount of the high pressure pump 12 is increased to apply a load to the crankshaft 4, acting as a first brake, and by closing an intake throttle valve 20, a pumping loss generated in a cylinder 11 is increased to apply a load to the crankshaft 4, acting as a second brake. Thus an engine rotational speed is decreased so as to shorten time until the engine 3 is completely stopped. |
