Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide self-adhesive edge-protection tapes which have protective effect against mechanical damage to glass edges of solar cell modules and flexibility for covering the edges.SOLUTION: An adhesive tape for protecting glass edges comprises a backing layer (hard phase) and a soft phase in order of approaching a substrate to be protected. The soft phase comprises a polymer foam, a viscoelastic material and/or an elastomeric material. The thickness of the hard phase is 150 μm or less, and the thickness of the soft phase is 200 μm or greater, with the ratio of the thickness of the soft phase to the thickness of the hard phase being 4 or greater. A polymer basis of the hard phase is selected from the group consisting of PVC, PET, polyurethanes, polyolefins, and mixtures of two or more of these polymers. A polymer basis of the soft phase is selected from among polyolefins, polyacrylates, polyurethanes, and mixtures of two or more of these polymers. |
