Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a rotational angle having a desired level of reliability to be obtained even if any one or two of A, B and Z phase signals become abnormal.SOLUTION: A decoder 1 detects (and decodes) a rotational angle of a motor 1 on the basis of A, B and Z phase signals matching the rotation of the motor 1. An angle signal monitoring unit 43 determines abnormality, if any, of one or two of the A, B and Z phase signals. The decoder 1, when all the A, B and Z phase signals are normal, detects the rotational angle by a predetermined normal decoding system based on the A, B and Z phase signals. Or if the angle signal monitoring unit 43 determines any one or two of the A, B and Z phase signals to be abnormal, the decoder 1 detects the rotational angle by a prescribed abnormal decoding system using one or two other normal phase signals which are not determined to be abnormal. |
