Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for producing a foamed rubber member of a roller body or the like having always stable physical properties by suppressing dispersion in each batch of physical properties, especially hardness, caused by external factors such as fluctuation of an outside air temperature; and to provide a transfer roller including a roller body having stable physical properties such as hardness, which is produced by the production method.SOLUTION: In a production method, a precursor of a foamed rubber member is foamed and crosslinked in a vulcanizing can through following stages, namely: the first stage for holding the precursor at a fixed temperature below a foaming start temperature of the precursor for a fixed time; the second stage for holding it at a fixed temperature near the foaming start temperature of the precursor for a fixed time; and the third stage for holding it at a fixed temperature higher than the temperature in the second stage for a fixed time. A transfer roller includes a cylindrical conductive foamed rubber member produced by the production method as a roller body. |
