Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a wrong quantity of cooked rice is determined even with the same quantity of cooked rice due to a calorific value changing by the variation of a heater and the variation of a power source voltage.SOLUTION: A rice cooker includes a current detection unit 6 for detecting a current that flows to a heater 2, a storage means 7 for memorizing a current value detected by the current detection unit 6, a rice cooking control unit 5 for controlling the operation of the rice cooker, and a temperature sensing means 3 for sensing the temperature of a pan heated by the heater, and determines the quantity of cooked rice based on a time required for a temperature of the pan to rise upon heating. The rice cooker memorizes the heater current value that flows when an accurate rated voltage is applied beforehand, compares the memorized current value with the heater current value that actually flows during cooking rice, and performs correction based on the comparison result of the heater current value when the quantity of cooked rice is determined from the time taken for the temperature rise of the pan, thereby determining the quantity of cooked rice accurately.
