Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon dioxide reduction device in which power loss can be reduced, and installation cost and maintenance cost are small.SOLUTION: A carbon dioxide reduction device includes: a photoelectric conversion layer 3 having a light receiving surface and a rear surface; an electrolytic solution tank 10 storing an electrolytic solution; first and second electrodes for electrolysis disposed in the electrolytic solution tank to pinch the electrolytic solution; and a COsupply part 22 that supplies carbon dioxide in the electrolytic solution tank, wherein the photoelectric conversion layer and the first and second electrodes 8, 9 for electrolysis are connected so that photoelectromotive force of the photoelectric conversion layer may be output to the first and second electrodes for electrolysis, the first electrode for electrolysis includes a catalyst for carbon dioxide reduction, the second electrode for electrolysis includes a catalyst for oxygen generation, and the first and second electrodes 8, 9 for electrolysis are disposed at a side of the rear surface of the photoelectric conversion layer.
