Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reliability of an arrestor by suppressing flashover of an insulation container during lightning impulse withstand voltage test.SOLUTION: The arrestor is constituted by housing, in an insulation container 4, the internal elements including a plurality of nonlinear resistance elements 1 laminated in series, a pair of electrode terminals 2 arranged at both ends of the nonlinear resistance elements 1 thus laminated, and insulating supports 31 arranged along the outer periphery of the nonlinear resistance elements 1 and coupling the pair of electrode terminals 2. The insulating support 31 is constituted by filling an insulating material with powder, the electrical resistance of which has nonlinear characteristics.
