PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control power consumption of an information processing apparatus according to an installation place.SOLUTION: A system includes an information processing apparatus and a server. The information processing apparatus includes: inquiry means for inquiring the server whether predetermined information processing in the information processing apparatus can be executed; position information notification means for notifying the server of position information of the information processing apparatus; and execution means for executing the predetermined information processing on the basis of an instruction from the server. The server includes: inquiry reception means for receiving the inquiry from the information processing apparatus; area identification means for identifying an area to which the information processing apparatus belongs by using the position information notified from the information processing apparatus that has made the inquiry; and instruction means for instructing execution of the predetermined information processing in the information processing apparatus that has made the inquiry on the basis of the number of information processing apparatuses executing the predetermined information processing among other information processing apparatuses belonging to the identified area.
