PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for obtaining central aortic systolic pressure from an arterial waveform.SOLUTION: A method for obtaining central aortic systolic pressure includes: (a) step 12 of creating a set representing an arterial waveform having a prescribed number of blood pressure measurement values; (b) step 14 of determining an integer interval value; (c) step 18 of averaging a series of continuous blood pressure measurement read values inside the set equal to the integer interval value starting from the f-th blood pressure measurement value inside the set; (d) step 20 of storing the averaged value in a central aortic systolic pressure set; and (e) step 22 of setting the central aortic systolic pressure as a maximum value inside a central aortic pressure set. In steps c. and d., the value of f is incremented one by one every time and is repeated until a value obtained by adding the integer interval value to the value of f becomes equal to the prescribed number of the blood pressure measurement values.
