Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve stronger adhesion by increasing the amount of UV irradiation to the center portion of an adhesive to reduce a UV irradiation time or a difference in curing degree between the surface and center portion of the adhesive.SOLUTION: The optical pickup device comprises: a light emitting element for emitting light; an objective lens for focusing the light emitted from the light emitting element on an external optical recording medium; a light receiving element for receiving light returned from the optical recording medium through the objective lens; a holder for holding the light emitting element or the light receiving element; and a case for fixing the holder through an adhesive. The holder has a holder adhesive surface adhered to the case, and the case has a case adhesive surface facing the holder adhesive surface and adhered to the holder. Side walls adjacent to the holder adhesive surface or the case adhesive surface and having a wall surface forming an angle relative to the holder adhesive surface or the case adhesive surface are provided. The case and the holder are adhered and fixed by a UV curable adhesive applied to the holder adhesive surface or the case adhesive surface.
