PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data collection system or the like that allows more various users to easily obtain chemical substance data of a component.SOLUTION: Terminal devices 100a and 100b receive, from a user, input of a component whose chemical substance data is to be obtained, and transmit examination request data of the component to a data collection device 200, with the data attached to email. The data collection device 200 obtains chemical substance data relating to the received examination request data from a supplier system 3 through a common base management system 2 that manages chemical substance data indicating a chemical substance contained by a component and a supplier supplying the component in association with each other. The data collection device 200 then transmits examination reply data including the obtained chemical substance data to the terminal devices 100a and 100b, with the data attached to email. The terminal devices 100a and 100b store the received chemical substance data in a storage location indicated by storage destination data previously stored in association with the examination request data.
