Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device for achieving enhancement in rewriting resistance of a flash memory and enhancement in a data transfer rate of a writing and reading operation.SOLUTION: A storage device comprises a flash memory 101, a non-volatile RAM (MRAM) 106 and a controller 103. When a power source is started up, the controller 103 reads file management information in the flash memory 101, and writes the file management information in the non-volatile RAM 106. When a reading and writing operation from a host is performed, the reading and writing operation is performed in the non-volatile RAM 106 on the basis of the file management information in the non-volatile RAM 106. When a power source of the host is shut down, the file management information in the non-volatile RAM 106 is read and is written in the flash memory 101.
