PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a structure by which a user can experience rolling friction force and sliding friction force.SOLUTION: A friction experience apparatus is configured by a lifting device 11, a bearing part 12, a pedestal 13, a pushing/pulling member 14, and a weight 15. The lifting device 11 is configured by a pair of link mechanisms 44 obtained by crossing first and second link arms 42, 43 like an X shape. A rolling contact surface of the pedestal 13 is arranged upwards respective balls 56, 56 of the bearing part 12 and a pedestal side sliding contact surface of the pedestal 13 is arranged upward a ramp side sliding contact surface 36 of the lifting device 11. The weight 15 is arranged on an upper surface of the pedestal 13. When the pedestal 13 is lifted up, a sliding friction state in which only the sliding contact surface of the pedestal 13 and the ramp side sliding contact surface are brought into contact with each other is achieved. When the pedestal 13 is descended, a rolling friction state in which only the rolling contact surface of the pedestal 13 and respective balls 56, 56 are brought into contact with each other can be achieved.
