PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aromatic alcohol, having an excellent characteristic, capable of suppressing the elevation rate of pressure difference of a filter for separating a catalyst and thereby performing continuous reaction efficiently.SOLUTION: A method for producing an aromatic alcohol includes supplying liquid containing an aromatic peroxide and hydrogen-containing gas to a reaction vessel in which a powdery or granular catalyst carrying a precious metal is suspended, and taking out reaction liquid containing the aromatic alcohol continuously, and has the following requirements (1) and (2). The requirement (1): to measure the concentration C (wt.%) of unreacted aromatic peroxide included in the taken out reaction liquid (provided that the total weight of the taken out reaction liquid is set as 100 wt.%). The requirement (2): to add the additional catalyst into the reaction vessel by neither stopping the reaction nor the taking out of the reaction liquid, when the measured concentration C (wt.%) is 0.05 to 0.07 wt.%.
