Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of an adhesive film with which a flexible metal-clad laminate is obtained with suppressed dimensional changes occurring when produced by a laminating method; and to provide a production method of a flexible metal-clad laminate obtained by laminating a metal foil on the adhesive film.SOLUTION: A production method of an adhesive film includes a step of conveying a gel film in a heating oven while fixing both ends of the gel film. At least a part of the step includes: a step of conveying the film fixed so that tension in the film width direction becomes substantially zero, or conveying in the heating oven while fixing both ends of the gel film; and a step of heating the film in a state of releasing the both ends from fixing. The elastic modulus of the adhesive film in the MD direction is 5 GPa or more and 1.70>(elastic modulus in MD direction)/(elastic modulus in TD direction)>1.05 is satisfied.
