Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an ethylenic polymer into which a sufficiently large number of long-chain branches having sufficient chain length are introduced in order to improve molding processability of metallocene-based polyethylenes.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing an ethylenic polymer by using an olefin polymerization catalyst composed of essential components of component (Ad): a specific metallocene compound, component (B): a compound reacting with the metallocene compound of component (A) to form a cationic metallocene compound, and component (C): a microparticulate carrier.
