Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a rotation detection device capable of preventing deterioration of location accuracy of a sensing part of a magnetic detection member caused by the flow of resin during insert molding.SOLUTION: In an electromagnetic conversion IC 41, a sensing part 52 for detecting changes in magnetism associated with rotation of a throttle gear and a signal operation part 54 for performing operation based on the output signal of the sensing part 52 form an L-shape. A mold resin member 46 for molding the electromagnetic conversion IC 41 is formed by arranging the electromagnetic conversion IC 41 in a metal mold 70 to perform insert molding by resin. In the metal mold 70, a first holding projection part 84 is provided for holding one side face in a thickness direction corresponding to a detection body in the sensing part 52 of the electromagnetic conversion IC 41. Insert molding is performed under a state in which the first holding projection part 84 partially holds one side face of the sensing part 52 of the electromagnetic conversion IC 41.
