PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust heat recovery device that is compact in a height direction.SOLUTION: An exhaust heat recovery device 10 includes: a branch part 12 for branching exhaust gas into two flows; a first flow path 13 extended from the branch part 12; a second flow path 14 extended from the branch part 12, along the first flow path 13; a heat exchanger 40 attached to the second flow path 14, for transmitting heat of the exhaust gas to a medium; a valve 50 rotatably provided at a downstream side end of the first flow path 13, for opening and closing the first flow path 13; and a valve chamber 17 formed downstream of the first flow path 13, for storing the valve 50. A valve shaft 51 for rotating the valve 50 is perpendicularly extended and supported at an upper part thereof, and an upper end above the upper part is connected to a thermoactuator 80 operated by heat from the medium, while a lower end is a free end.
