Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sugar liquid in which, when an acid is recovered from the sugar liquid, the acid is recovered at high recovery, and accordingly fermentation is not inhibited by the acid or a salt derived from the neutralization of the acid, and to use inexpensive materials having versatility for a sulfuric acid recovery apparatus.SOLUTION: An acid recovery method in which an acid is recovered from a sugar liquid obtained by adding the acid to woody biomass and by hydrolyzing cellulose and hemicellulose in the woody biomass includes the followings: a salt is deposited by an alkali added to the sugar liquid; and the acid is recovered after the removal of the salt by solid-liquid separation.
