Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device that can improve frequency utilization efficiency and improve data transmission speed by multiplex communication.SOLUTION: In a transmitter 1000, encoding/allocation processing unit 100 converts partial bit strings forming a transmission bit string into n-system (n: a natural number) transmission first order symbols each of which corresponds to a first signal point on a first constellation corresponding to a prescribed modulation scheme. A mapping converter 104 converts the transmission first order symbols into m-system (m: a natural number less than n) transmission second order symbols each of which corresponds to a second signal point on a second constellation. Each of the second signal points in the transmission second order symbol of at least one system corresponds to prescribed multiple types of degenerated transmission bit strings. A transmission modulation unit 106 transmits m-system transmission second order symbols to a plurality of respective orthogonal transmission lines.
