Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent oxidation in a preheating stage of a nozzle for casting by restraining an antioxidant layer, which is arranged on an inner hole surface of the nozzle for casting, from being peeled off in the preheating stage.SOLUTION: In a nozzle 20 for casting, an intermediate layer 2 is provided on a part or the whole of a surface of a nozzle body refractory 1 having an inner hole 5 for allowing the passage of molten steel, and one or more antioxidant layers 3 densified by being vitrified in a temperature range of 400-1,500°C are formed on the outer surface of the intermediate layer 2. The intermediate layer 2 is a refractory in which inorganic fibers are intertwined with one another and coupled together by a carbonaceous binder, and has resistance to heat at 1,000°C or higher. The intermediate layer 2 and the nozzle body refractory 1 configure an integral structure in which matrix organizations of the mutual refractories continue into each other via an interface between them.
