Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting element drive which can drive a light-emitting element at high speed with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: In the light-emitting element drive for supplying a pulse current having a desired amplitude from a power supply to a light-emitting element 3, by turning a gate drive transistor 2 connected in series with the light-emitting element 3 on or off based on a drive signal, voltage of the power supply is set so that a current larger than a desired amplitude is supplied to the light-emitting element 3, when the gate drive transistor 2 is maintained in the on state, and the pulse width of a drive signal is set so that a current of a desired amplitude is supplied to the light-emitting element 3.
