Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reconstitution method which can use a simple algorithm to restore an image.SOLUTION: An image reconstitution method includes a step S1 for obtaining an incomplete projection data, a step T1 for determining the presence range of an object, and a step T2 for defining basis functions which generate within the presence range of the object, thereby determining the basis functions limited to stay within the presence range. Steps T3 and T4 perform the Fourier transformation on each of the incomplete projection data and the basis functions, and then use the Gauss-Seidel method to solve a simultaneous equation which includes the same number of equations as the degree of freedom in the basis functions so as to be the number of the incomplete projection data, thereby determining the coefficients in the individual basis function. In a step S4, based on the basis functions having the determined coefficients, a restored image is evaluated. Thus, since only the conditions within the presence range of the object are used as already known information and the basis functions are determined to stay within the existence range, the simple algorithm can be used to restore the image.
