Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt device capable of suppressing a fall in operability and preventing the release of engagement between a latch and a tongue caused by the improvident operation of a release means such as a release button.SOLUTION: A regulating piece passing hole 152 is formed in an engagement piece 58 of a latch 50, and a regulating piece 152 is extended in a pull-out direction of a tongue 130 from an inserting direction side portion of the tongue 130 at the inner peripheral part of a latch engaging hole 138 of the tongue 130. When the regulating piece 152 of the tongue 130 enters the regulating piece passing hole 152 of the latch 50 in a state where the engagement piece 58 of the latch 50 has entered the latch engaging hole 138 of the tongue 130, the regulating piece 152 faces the inner peripheral part of the regulating piece passing hole 152 on the release direction side of the latch 50. Consequently, if the regulating piece 152 does not slip out of the regulating piece passing hole 152 by further pushing the tongue 130 into a buckle 12, the engagement piece 58 of the latch 50 cannot slip out of the latch engaging hole 138 of the tongue 130 even if pressing a release button 90.
