Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content distribution system in which IP multicast distribution and unicast distribution can be switched suitably.SOLUTION: In a content distribution system 1, a distribution server 30 transmits a load parameter representing the distribution load of each content to a connection control server 40. The connection control server 40 determines to distribute a content by IP multicast system when the load parameter is equal to or larger than a threshold, otherwise distribute a content by unicast system, notifies a distribution server of the distribution system thus determined, and sets the threshold to be larger for larger rate of content where the load parameter of all contents is equal to or larger than the threshold.
