Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor control device and a motor control method capable of enhancing versatility without causing increase in circuit scale.SOLUTION: It is determined whether or not mechanical angle data is equal to or more than a value obtained by multiplying electric angle one cycle data by 2. When the determination is negative, first temporary electric angle data is set to be equal to the mechanical angle data. When the determination is affirmative, the first temporary electric angle data is set to be equal to a value obtained by subtracting a value obtained by multiplying the electric angle one cycle data by 2from the mechanical angle data. Then, it is determined whether or not (k-1)th temporary electric angle data is equal to or more than a value obtained by multiplying the electric angle one cycle data by 2. When the determination is negative, k-th temporary electric angle data is set to be equal to the (k-1)th temporary electric angle data. When the determination is affirmative, processing for setting the k-th temporary electric angle data to be equal to a value obtained by subtracting a value obtained by multiplying the electric angle one cycle data by 2from the (k-1)th temporary electric angle data is repeated while k is 2 to n. Electric angle data is set to be equal to n-th temporary electric angle data, and sine/cosine wave data is set on the basis of this electric angle data.
