Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic apparatus suited to a gesture based on a thumb.SOLUTION: The portable electronic apparatus includes a touch sensor type display part. According to one embodiment, an initial touch zone is validated in the left side or the right side of the display part. A person holding the apparatus in one hand can navigate using a thumb by performing a gesture on the touch zone. For example, one such gesture may select the touch zone as a default. Secondly, a selection menu may be displayed on the area of the touch zone. An appropriate gesture (for example using the thumb) can operate the selection menu.
