Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-treated steel material which exhibits excellent corrosion resistance even in a concentrated chloride environment where the concentration of chloride ions is high, can extremely suppress the peeling of a coating even in an environment of the cooling/heating cycle, caused by solar irradiation and atmospheric temperature, and shows superior long-term durability, and to provide a method for producing the surface-treated steel material.SOLUTION: A surface-treated steel material is characterized in that a surface of a steel material is covered with a rust layer or an organic resin layer containing α-FeOOH together with Sn and/or Ce. An organic resin having a dry film thickness of ≥20 μm may be applied as a topcoat layer. |
