Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately calculate parallax in a mode of preventing an increase in a processing load even when a plurality of parallax candidates are present.SOLUTION: A stereo parallax calculation device includes a stereo camera, and a processing device. The processing device comprises: parallax candidate extraction means that executes processing for extracting a parallax candidate for a pixel of interest in one image of the stereo camera on the basis of an index value representing similarity of each pixel in a search area in the other image with respect to the pixel of interest on a plurality of pixels of interest, respectively; composite index value generation means that when a plurality of parallax candidates are extracted for one pixel of interest, generates a composite index value for each of the parallax candidates on the basis of an index value related to a parallax candidate (in-peripheral-pixel parallax candidate) which is extracted with a peripheral pixel of the one pixel of interest as the pixel of interest and whose absolute value of a parallax difference from the parallax candidate is equal to or lower than a predetermined value and an index value related to the parallax candidate; and parallax specification means that specifies parallax related to the one pixel of interest from among the plurality of parallax candidates on the basis of the composite index value related to each of the plurality of parallax candidates. |
