Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cable capable of tearing off a sheath without using a cutting tool such as a cutter, and easily taking out an optical fiber.SOLUTION: Optical cables 11 and 11' are made by coating the outer periphery of aggregate cores 12 storing a plurality of optical fibers with sheaths 14. Linear members 18 extending in the longitudinal direction of the optical cables and made by material which is inferior in alcohol resistance bite into the sheaths from sheath outer surfaces 14a to be integrally formed with the sheaths. The linear members are preferably polystyrene resin which is easy to generate a chemical stress crack by adding alcohol.
