PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for stiffening a steel member, which enables a reinforcement material to be simply fixed to angle steel as an existing material, and which does not limit the size of the reinforcement material.SOLUTION: A structure for stiffening a steel member made of angle steel A configuring a steel building includes a rectangular steel tube 10 which is elongated along the longitudinal direction of the angle steel A in such a manner that two outer surfaces 11 and 11 sandwiching a ridge line face valley-side surfaces A11 and A11 of two flanges A1 and A1 of the angle steel A, and a fixing member 20 which is configured to fix the angle steel A and the rectangular steel tube 10 in the state of making the flange A1 of the angle steel A press the outer surface 11 of the rectangular steel tube 10 facing the flange A1 from the outside, in a plurality of locations at intervals in the longitudinal direction of the angle steel A.
