Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve easiness in swing of a golf club by optimizing the center of gravity position of the golf club and also to increase shaft strength and rigidity.SOLUTION: A golf club shaft 2 is used for a golf club 1. The shaft includes: a shaft body 5 that is made of fibe- reinforced resin and that is tubular shaped and extends in an axial direction; and a cylindrical reinforcing member 6 that is made of a high specific gravity material having a greater specific gravity than the shaft body 5 and that is coaxially arranged and integrated with the shaft body. In addition, in the outer periphery 7b and/or the inner periphery 7a of the reinforcing member 6, there are formed ribs 9 that project with a small height.
