Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an identity enabling user equipment (UE) to easily detect and preferentially handle an emergency call such as calls to a Public Safety Access Point (PSAP) or callbacks from the PSAP.SOLUTION: A PSAP 108 sets a Priority header to a distinctive value (e.g., emergency-call) or sets P-Asserted-Identity to a distinctive value (e.g., urn:service:sos), thereby identifying a call as an emergency call in a SIP response. When PSAP 108 chooses to call back an UE 102, the UE 102 can terminate any ongoing calls and accept this call from the PSAP 108 and can disable other supplementary services (e.g., call waiting, three-way calling, etc.) during the call. |
