Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spectral characteristic acquisition device and an image evaluation device that accurately evaluate colors possessed by an object such as a coloring material, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A spectral characteristic acquisition device includes light irradiation means 101 for irradiating a medium 10 with light, area dividing means 102 for dividing the light radiated from the light irradiation means and transmitted the medium into areas, light guide means 103 for guiding the light divided into areas by the area dividing means; spectroscopic means 104 for dispersing the light guided by the light guide means; and light-receiving means 105 for receiving the light dispersed by the spectroscopic means. The spectral characteristic acquisition device acquires spectral characteristics from the light transmitted the medium.
