Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gel automatic detergent composition utilizing xanthan gum as a thickener which exhibits a consumer-preferred rheology, results in a smooth, creamy consistency and having a stabilized enzyme system.SOLUTION: A detergent composition having a desired rheology is formulated from a thickener system of xanthan gum and either an associative thickener or a soluble silicate; one or more enzymes; an enzyme stabilizer; and water having a pH from 7.0 to 10.
