PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for fastening underwater bolt and nut, by which fastening of a bolt and a nut is smoothly operated by remote control under water with a simple operation and structure.SOLUTION: The apparatus for fastening underwater bolt and nut includes: a tool body 10 which is guided from a spent fuel storage pit crane 101 to a connecting plate 119 for fastening the bolt and nut by being suspended; a socket 11 for bolt rotation which is assembled to an upper part of the tool body for rotating the bolt 128; a torque rod 131 which rotates the socket for bolt rotation; a nut holder 14 which is assembled to the lower part of the tool body for holding the nut 127 to a holder part 13; a lifting air cylinder which lifts the nut holder by remote control; a revolver type nut holding table 19 assembled to the nut holder; a turning air motor 20 for turning the nut holding table by remote control; and an air cylinder 21 which pushes up the nut in the hut holding table to the holder part by remote control for abutting on a tip of the bolt.
