Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for treating dust, capable of screening, separating and recovering fine coke powder and oxide powder whose main material is iron oxide powder, which are mixed and contained in blast furnace dust, with high accuracy and completeness in industry.SOLUTION: The method for treating dust makes blast furnace dust (a) into slurry c and is adopted in combination with surface reforming treatment and flotation treatment. In other words, the method for treating dust can screen and separate coke powder d and oxide powder e in the blast furnace dust (a), using the difference in wettability between particle surfaces, by performing the following processes: slurrying, oil addition, shearing force application, surface reforming, foaming agent addition, and flotation in order. The apparatus for treating dust can screen and separate coke powder d and oxide powder e in the blast furnace dust (a) by arranging a slurry tank 1, an oil addition means 2, a surface reforming machine 3, a foaming agent addition means 4, and a flotation machine 5 in order.
