Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner including a dust collecting chamber having improved dust compression performance and preventing dust from scattering.SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner includes: the dust collecting chamber 35 for separating dust from dust-containing air sucked by an electric fan 30 and collecting the dust; a humidifying hole 41 opening in the dust collecting chamber 35; a moisture absorbing member 46 communicating with the humidifying hole 41 and generating high humidity air; and an introduction tube 48 for introducing the high humidity air from the moisture absorbing member 46 to the dust collecting chamber 35. A partition plate 49 being parallel with the axis of the introduction tube 48 and vertically dividing a surface to be cleaned is provided to form two passages, so that the high humidity air oriented from the moisture absorbing member 46 to the dust collecting chamber 35, and low humidity air returned from the dust collecting chamber 35 do not collide with each other and are not mixed with each other, whereby the high humidity air is reliably fed to the dust.
