Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-strength aluminum alloy material having excellent surface quality in the anodic oxidation treatment and to provide a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: Provided is a high-strength aluminum alloy, which has a chemical composition comprising, by mass, >7.2% but ≤8.7% of Zn, 1.3 to 2.1% of Mg, 0.01 to 0.10% of Cu, 0.01 to 0.10% of Zr, <0.02% of Cr, ≤0.30% of Fe, ≤0.30% of Si, <0.05% of Mn, and 0.001 to 0.05% of Ti, with the remainder being Al and inevitable impurities, and which has a resistance of 350 MPa or greater. The metal structure is a recrystallized structure. The L* value and the b* value as specified by JIS Z8729 (ISO7724-1) and measured after anode oxidation using a sulfuric acid bath are between 85 and 95 and between 0 and 0.8. |
