Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retaining pin allowing a split pin to be attached/detached without using a tool, a jig or the like, and making the split pin reusable after detachment.SOLUTION: This retaining pin includes a head part formed by being bent on a nearly rectangular shape or a nearly circular arc, an insertion part extended from one end of a gripping part, and a catching part formed by extending the insertion part of the gripping part from the other extension end and bent into a nearly rectangular shape. The retaining pin is a split pin that is formed such that the insertion part is linear, the nearly rectangular shape of the catching part is generally in parallel to a plane formed by a nearly rectangular shape formed by the gripping part, and one diagonal line of the nearly rectangular shape includes the axis line of the insertion part. The retaining pin allows a shaft to be caught, attached and detached by elastic deformation, can be thereby attached/detached without using a tool, a jig or the like, and can be reused after detachment.
