Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method and a control device which can reduce a start torque of pumps when starting a smaller number of pumps which are used for a cooling system of a nuclear power plant than during a normal operation and can prevent an excessive flow rate of the pumps.SOLUTION: A method for controlling a cooling system 100 includes: a valve fully closing control step which detects the number of pumps 102 which are operating and outputs a valve control signal which controls a flow control valve 104 so that it is fully closed if it is detected that all of a plurality of pumps 102 are stopped; a first pump starting step which starts a smaller number of pumps 102 than the number of them operated during a normal operation, in a state in which the flow control valve 104 is fully closed; and a first valve opening control step which, after the first pump starting step, outputs a valve control signal which controls the flow control valve 104 so that its opening is equal to or smaller than a limit opening which is set to a smaller value than an upper limit opening of the flow control valve 104 during a normal operation. |
