Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition which repairs the surface roughness of an object to be coated and provides, on the object to be coated, a coating film having surface roughness finer than the object to be coated.SOLUTION: The coating composition includes a coating resin (A) and an organic solvent (B). The coating resin (A) includes 65-95 wt.% of a graft copolymer and 5-35 wt.% of a polyester polyol having a molecular chain end represented by the structural formula. The graft copolymer includes 3-12 wt.% of a branch polymer and 100 wt.% of a matrix polymer. The matrix polymer includes a total of 100 wt.% of methacrylic monomers including 1-8 wt.% of methacrylic acid, 3-16 wt.% of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, and 76-96 wt.% of alkyl methacrylate having an 1-4C alkyl group. The branch polymer is a polymethylmethacrylate macromonomer. The organic solvent (B) is at least one selected from among ester-based organic solvents and ketone-based organic solvents.
