Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method that automatically dye a biological sample on a microscope slide (microscope mount).SOLUTION: An automatic system which performs slide processing operation on a slide supporting a biological sample includes a slide tray holding a plurality of slides at substantially horizontal positions, and a work station receiving the slide tray. The work station supplies a reagent (and a reagent carrying a contaminant like an exfoliating cell) onto a slide surface substantially without transferring the reagent from one slide to another slide. Further, there is provided an automatic processing method for slide.
