Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate defective discharge by discharging clogging from a discharge opening.SOLUTION: A printer includes: a head which discharges pretreatment liquid; a head which discharges ink; a cap means; a humidified-air supplying mechanism which supplies generated humidified air to discharge space; a pump which carries out a purge operation of discharging the ink from the discharge opening; a maintenance control part; a jam detecting part; a press button which outputs a jam treatment completion signal; and a time measuring part which measures jam treatment time taken from occurrence of jam until jam treatment is completed. The maintenance control part carries out a humidifying operation in a capping state when the jam treatment time is equal to or more than first predetermined time. Then, the maintenance control part controls a cap means, the humidified-air supplying mechanism, and the pump to carry out the purge operation after capping is released.
