PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen sharing method capable of reducing communication traffic and improving immediacy of screen sharing.SOLUTION: When a presenter-side PC determines that a partial image Pp which is part of an image P currently being displayed is updated, the presenter-side PC performs the steps of: setting a plurality of virtual cells Ci with respect to the image P; determining whether each of the virtual cells Ci contains the partial image Pp to set an update cell region Cu which is composed of virtual cells Ci containing the partial image Pp; scanning the update cell region Cu in a unit of a line inwardly to the center to extract the partial image Pp by omitting lines which do not contain the partial image Pp; generating data for high-speed display by compressing partial image data of the partial image Pp; and transmitting the data for high-speed display to a participant-side PC and causes the participant side PC to display the partial image for high-speed display on an image currently being displayed on a participant-side display unit.
