Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connection component which is capable of surely removing a coating.SOLUTION: An optical connection component 1 for connection between a coated optical fiber 11 and an optical member 12 includes: a coating removing part 64 which a front end surface 11a of the coated optical fiber 11 is brought into contact with to allow a coating 14 to be removed from the front end surface 11a of the coated optical fiber 11; a front hole part 61 which is provided ahead of the coating removing part 64 and in which the coated optical fiber 11 is to be abutted against the optical member 12; a rear hole part 63 provided behind the coating removing part 64; and a holding part 70 having a plurality of support parts 71 which are provided in the rear hole part 63 at intervals in a front-to-back direction to support an outer peripheral surface of the coated optical fiber 11. The plurality of support parts 71 are movable toward the coating removing part 64.
