Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber laser device in which thermal damage of optical components or optical fibers due to exciting light or spontaneous emission amplified light is minimized.SOLUTION: The fiber laser device comprises a seed light source 10, a preamplifier 20, a main amplifier 30, and a buffer optical fiber 16. The preamplifier 20 includes a first optical fiber 22 to which a first rare earth element is added, and the main amplifier 30 includes a second optical fiber 32 to which a second rare earth element and the first rare earth element are added. The buffer optical fiber 16, to which the second rare earth element is added, is interposed between the preamplifier 20 and the main amplifier 30. The spontaneous emission amplified light emitted by the energy stored in the second rare earth element in the second optical fiber 32, and the exciting light that is not absorbed but left are absorbed in the second rare earth element of the buffer optical fiber 16.
