Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic control device capable of diagnosing a failure of a WDT without increasing a processing load in a processing section such as a CPU to be monitored.SOLUTION: In an electronic control device that includes a processing section for performing predetermined processing according to a program, and a watch dog timer which has a time counter to be reset by a pulse signal output from the processing section at predetermined intervals, and outputs a signal of which a level is inverted according to presence/absence of occurrence of overflow, the electronic control device includes a latch circuit for latching a signal output from the watch dog timer and outputting a signal obtained by the latch as a first output enable signal, and the processing section stops an output of the pulse signal when diagnosing the failure of the watch dog timer, and diagnoses the failure of the watch dog timer on the basis of the first output enable signal output from the latch circuit after the output of the pulse signal has been stopped.
