PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lath for mortar substrate that can easily and securely form projections of constant height and high rigidity suitable for construction of an outer wall of a building and an interval holder used for the lath, by using a lath for mortar substrate which has a wire lath and interval holders united together in advance.SOLUTION: There is provided a lath 10 for mortar substrate which has many interval holders 4 united with a wire lath 1 formed by joining many vertical line materials 2 and horizontal line materials 3 in a lattice shape, and the interval holders 4 each have wire lath intersection joint parts 4a at both ends and a bent projection part 4b therebetween, the wire lath intersection joint part 4a of the interval holder 4 being joined to an intersection positioned on a diagonal of a square of the lattice of the wire lath 1.
