Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber connection device for preventing malfunction of an optical fiber while maintaining assembly easiness, and a method for attaching the optical fiber.SOLUTION: An optical connector 1 includes: a connector body 4 which has a ferrule 3, an optical fiber holding hole 23 for inserting an optical fiber 2 into the side of the ferrule 3, a deflection permission part 13 which is provided so as to be connected to the optical fiber holding hole 23 to permit deflection of the optical fiber, and an opening K which communicates the optical fiber holding hole 23 with the deflection permission part 13; and a fiber guide cover 30 which blocks the opening K. An optical fiber holding part 5 is arranged in the back of the connector body 4 to hold the optical fiber 2. The fiber guide cover 30 is constituted so as to move by insertion force of the optical fiber holding part 5 into the connector body 4 to open the opening K.
